Another painting completed while living in San Cristóbal de las Casas. Daily we watched women carrying earthen wear jars of water long distances across rocky and sometimes dangerous mountainous paths back to their homes and their families. And never did I see them feeling anything but tranquil. To them this was just a necessary and loving task. And for those who could, they had beautiful gardens. My work tries to show how I felt among these ancient people.
